Happy Summer! Hope you’ve had a chance to relax, get into nature and hopefully notice some of the amazing clues to sustainable civilisation that are all around us in the Australian landscape.
So, what’s RockSalt Arts been up to?
Recently we followed up a week of arts summer school here at Poatina Arts with some time collaborating with Biz Adams (film maker) and Pamela Horsley (painter/visual artist). Here we are in Pamela’s studio with her painting for the project, inspired by stories in colonial Explorer’s accounts of stone houses and hospitality in villages. This new performance project, next in the Becoming Australian series, interweaves stories of home and harvest, domesticity and acquisition.
Its been a privilege to work with such inspiring and skilled collaborators, and we look forward to sharing Explorer Stories in schools, festivals and theatre settings throughout 2017 and ongoing.
P.S We’re also planning an installation version for galleries!
